Tell the Forest Service to Protect Our Oldest Forests
In order to meet President Biden’s call to protect and expand older forests for future generations, the Forest Service is collecting comments on the first-ever National Old Growth Amendment that will change 122 forest land management plans across the country.
Sadly, the Forest Service’s proposal falls far short. Instead of ending commercial exploitation, the agency seeks to enshrine direction that will send old growth trees to the mill instead of letting them remain standing where they can help stop the dual climate and biodiversity crises.
Add your name to our letter urging the Forest Service to adopt meaningful protections for current and future old growth forests.
